Hey Chicas. Welcome to Red Lips Real Talk podcast. I'm Jasmin. I'm Monica. I'm Maritza. And I'm Deibys with the Y. And we are four Latinas from South Florida, bringing you real talk on life, love and everything in between. Time to get real. Dale,

welcome to our very first podcast of Red Lifts Real Talk. Thank you for tuning in and giving us a listen. I hope you like what you hear and you continue to come back. How did we get here, ladies? Wow, yeah, how did we get here? I don't know. What happened? How did this happen, Maritza? Tell us, Maritza, how did we get here?

Jasmin. Well, me and Jasmin got together for lunch. Where did we go? We went to Ceviche Lovers in South Miami. Yes. Very good ceviche. Okay. Lunch date. We had great conversation. We're laughing like always. And just like any conversation, you know, you say, Hey man, we should do a podcast. And of course I said, yeah, yeah, I'm down.

But Jasmin left there saying, I'm going to do my research. I'm going to call you. I'm going to do my research. You should know better. I was like, yeah, yeah, I'm down. Laughter

Yeah. And, um, Red Lips started in 2018. Monica was part of that. So, of course, I had to let her know. We're doing a podcast. Well, so basically what happened was, is that, um, I have, um, I have a social media that I work on. And I started, I, I posted a video. And it was talking about something very vulnerable. And, uh, You never know when a video is going to take off, but it did.

It took off and about 850, 000 people saw it. I don't think anything could prepare you for that. And I got thousands of comments. And, um, after that I was like, Oh my God, no, we need to do this. We need to do this. Like, forget it. Like olvidate, so I picked up the phone. I picked up my cell phone. I called Maritza and I'm like all hype.

I'm all excited. I'm like, Maritza, we need to do this, tiki tiki tiki. And she's like, okay, let's do it. And that's it. Once you tell me I'm, we're good, I'm like, I'm like a horse that goes off. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, and she did it. She did it. She sure did. She lit that fire up our asses. Yeah, she did. She goes and she posts a video on her TikTok.

And she literally made it official. Like, this is happening. Yeah. And then she texts us in a group chat. And I was with you, no? Yeah. Yeah, Deibys with me, and I was like, she saw my face. I was like, what? I'm like, are you okay? I'm sorry. Yeah, it was, I was scared. I was like, I can't believe she did this. Look at this.

Look at what she did. Well, I got death threats. Oh my God. Yes I did. She was like, I love you, but I fucking hate you. I was like, I'm going to kill you. No, but then I, you know, I, she told me she quit. Yeah, I did. She quit before she even started. She quit before she even started. Yeah, that's so true. I did say that.

I mean, listen, I'm, I'm going to keep it real. There is, um, there's a reason why I posted without telling you guys, you know? Yeah, I get it. And I know why. But. I don't know. I was still scared. I know, and I told you. I said, I said, I said, so what happened? And you're like Oh no, we're doing like this podcast, me and, you know, me, Maritza, and Jasmin are talking about a podcast.

She's like, and I told her, yeah, I'm in, I'm in, and she's like, but then she posted. I didn't even know we were posting about it. I said, you know why she did that, right? I go, because if she would have told you, you would have been like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not going to do this.

Because I know you will. Deibys, Deibys did express that she was like, I want to be in a podcast. I was more excited than you because you were shocked. I was like, what? I was like, oh my god, that would be awesome. I've always wanted to do a podcast. And you're like, join us. I was like, no, I can't do that. And then here I am.

Well, you know, we were supposed to meet for dinner. And Monica has sent me a text message, and she was like, Hey, you know, is it okay with you? And she was like, do you remember Deibys? And I was like, yeah, I remember, because we had met only once or twice. Yeah. A long time ago. But I always remember, I was like, Oh, she's like, she's so sweet and very personable.

I was like, listen, have her come to dinner. We'll talk and see if the energy is good. And if it is, why not? Like. You know, but I'll be honest with you. I thought you were like a white girl because your name is Debbie. Everybody calls me Debbie. So I'm known as Debbie. Right. So you open second, you're a gringa, tremenda gringa.

So in my mind, I was worried. Porque en Instagram, cuando yo hice esa locura, I was like, we're three Latinas from South Florida. And I'm like, coño. This girl's a white girl. So in my mind, I'm like, three Latinas and a white girl.

But no, it's four Latinas. Yeah. And that's why when I saw you at dinner, I was like, Debbie, you're white, right? You told me that. You told me that. I was like, no, I'm Cuban. And I was like, With a Y. Deibys with a Y. Cause you know, Cuban's got to throw a Y in that name somewhere. I know when she told me, I was excited.

I said, you know what, Debbie's has great energy. She's going to be awesome. Aw, thank you. And well, you, I mean, even though I don't see you all the time, I've met you just those few times, I still know of you because, you know, I'm super close with Monica, my sister in law. So it's like, Even though I don't see you, I, I know of you, and you know what I mean?

I know she goes out with you guys, and you guys are all super close, and Marissa I see more often. Still not all the time. So I was like, oh, I would, you know, they're great ladies. Like, I think it would be fun, you know? And I mean, at any time I get to spend with Monica is always great. Of course. So, you know, I was like, I could do this.

But I didn't want to step on toes. So I was like, Monica, no. She's like, no. I'm gonna, I was like, I'm gonna ask. I was like, yeah, ask. I was like, but you know, like, I'm not trying to just jump in. I just was like, I would always wanted to do a podcast. This sounds so fun. Well, I'm glad that you asked because you are a great addition to our team.

You ladies are amazing. Yeah. So, you know, I, I did want to. Explain, uh, why I posted so fast. I've been friends with Maritza practically almost all my life. I met her in middle school, but she didn't like me. , honestly. Now she loves you. I don't blame her. , you know, I had the same thing and I met, uh, Monica, I think in 10th grade, right?

Yeah. Was a 10th grade. Um, so I know them. They're, they're not my friends, they're my sisters, they're my family. And, um. And I hope you guys don't take this the wrong way, but I know that had I not done that, we would still be planning. We would still be like, Oh, you know, let's do this. We're not ready yet.

And sometimes I just feel there's a sense of urgency in doing things faster now because I'm a woman of an older age. And I, and I don't like to talk about age because I know that that's not the most important thing. But I just feel like. You know, time is of the essence and time is precious. And I just felt a little pressure and a little light under your butt.

Never hurts anybody. Well, you know, we've known each other for a long time, and you always set a fire under my ass. You get me going. Well, you know, you're not the first one. I love you for that. I'm glad you set that fire. I love you for that. Because if not, if Monica and me were talking about this, I would have been in the same boat with them like, Yeah, let's plan.

I'm a planner. I'm a note maker. I'm like, Visionary. And then I'd be like, well, no, I would have been the same way. So I'm glad I jumped on with you letting the fire. I'm tired of talking about doing things and not doing it. Yeah. Right. And that's why I did it. And I was like, I know they may be a little shocked or maybe even betrayed.

They may be like, damn, she didn't even tell us. And I, I feel bad about that, but half of me feels bad and half of me doesn't because we're here now. Well, I don't think Monica felt betrayed. Cause I was there when she got the message. She was just like, This shit's fucking happening. I don't normally have panic attacks.

Did you have a panic attack for real? I started feeling it, yeah, and we were with family. It was like a family event. We were out on the beach. I'm sorry, Mo. With a bunch of people. No, but, we're here. A good panic attack. No, it was good. It was good. I was excited, but I was like, oh my god, I gotta do this. Yeah.

She was never like, I can't believe she did this. Oh my god, I'm not do She was just like, Wow. Well, we were talking about doing a podcast then, and we're doing a podcast now because it's out and we're doing a podcast. . No, no, ab absolutely. And you need that. You need that. So I'm thankful for the person that you are because so am I.

I I would've been, like I said, in the same boat. No, I, I agree. And with that said, I did wanna say a few words of, everybody has a different reason. All four of us are here. We have different reasons as to why we wanna do the podcast. For me, it is, um. It is a platform that I would like to use to uplift our young youth and also a platform to uplift women who maybe feel like it's a burden.

Like how many times have you heard people say, I'm too old, it's too late for me. Oh yeah. I say that from time to time. All the time. So maybe there's someone driving their car right now and they're like, wow, these ladies have found the courage and they're being a little wild at heart and they're taking a leap of faith into doing something that A, they have no experience, they don't know what they're doing, but they've decided to do it.

And I want to be an inspiration. For women like, like that. That's one of the main reasons I want to do this because when we talk, just us as friends, I know many times I may come over your house, Maritza, and I feel down and I come home and I feel uplifted because of things that you've said to me. No, it's true.

And you know, we need to embrace new possibilities. Yeah, maybe we can inspire change in others to be spontaneous. And you know what, we're, we're full of laughs too. If people are gonna listen to us and maybe laugh, what's wrong with that? Right? That's true. Yeah. So yeah, that's the main reason that I wanted to do this.

And, uh, there's many other reasons, but for now, it's a privilege and an honor to be here with you. Four ladies. And I love you guys very much. I love you too, Jasmin. I love you too. Yeah, we love you Jas. And, um, pit bull. If you're listening, , you are the goal. Eventually.

Wow. One fan over here. We, your vision is why we actually started Red Lips Real Talk back in 2018. Exactly. Er, I didn't know that. Yeah. Yeah. We had that same Vision. Vision, and we wanted. inspiration. We wanted empowerment. We wanted connection, mingle with people. And that's why we were creating all these gatherings.

Um, I was there at the gatherings and I wasn't part of red. Yeah. I wasn't part of red lips, real talk back then, but I'm part of it now. Did you go to the yoga? Yes. I went to the yoga, the vision boards, all the gatherings and it was, it was fun. Yeah, definitely. So seeing it from the opposite end, you guys.

made it good, like, it was, it was nice to have all the group of women, to have fun and get together and just, you know, just relate and conversate and just, you know, just be women. I mean, it's fun to be a woman, in my opinion. I love being a woman. Everybody has stories and we learn from each other, which is, you know, something that I love.

I love hearing people talk and I love hearing people's stories. So that's kind of how we got started with all of that. Um, well, so hopefully if we, in the future, start hearing people's stories, we can come back with a rebuttal and say, Hey, maybe you should do this. And maybe of course we're not licensed doctors.

We're just four regular women from South Florida, but we have life experience. And I will tell you, I have a, A soft spot for the young youth because I don't relate to their generation. I'm a gen x, you know I was born in the 70s and their generation is so different than mine but I have spoken to a few young ladies that I have been able to For lack of a better word maybe mentor and stuff like that and they're such beautiful beautiful girls beautiful young people They just need a little A little nudge, you know, and if we could be that for them, why not?

Right, you know Yeah so You . What else? Monica? What did, what else did we do with red lips? We had a yoga session. You remember that? I do. I remember that. Yeah. That was fun. I remember not being able to do all the yoga positions. . . But if you know what? We had a positions, we had a at the right time. . Yes, I do.

To keep your marriage together. . Why do I always to go there? That's right. And we had a raffle. Jasmin, do you remember getting that book at the raffle? I never read the book, but listen, listen, I, I like to win. Yeah, I like to win. I could be competitive too. Yeah, absolutely. Well, and with all this talk, I mean, we decided to bring red lips to the next level.

Yeah. Yeah. And here we are. And here we are. Yeah. Yeah. Deibys, if you don't mind sharing, not to put you on the spot, but what is your real why on doing this podcast? Um. Mine is more of a fun side, but also an impactful side. You know, like I'm very humorous. I like to just laugh all the time. Like I like to see the good side of things.

And I feel like doing this podcast is, Good en entertainment for women that need to just connect with women and feel good about themselves and me doing this also is making me feel good about myself, you know? Yeah, me too. I'm not gonna lie. And I just wanna, like, pass that energy along. Like, if I'm feeling good, then I'm gonna pass that energy along.

Like, you know, they say, like, the people around you, Or you know is the vibe, you know what I mean? So I believe in that you absorb people's energy Yeah, so if i'm sending good energy out there and we're all sending good energy and we're vibing good like i'm gonna inspire other women And just relatable Give people good tips talk about real stories and I want to hear stories like how maritza says like I like to hear stories and I like to see people's side of view or just listening to what they've been through.

I want to hear that stuff too. You know, I'm a girl's girl. I like a good conversation. I love good laughs and hopefully we can all connect. Yeah. Yeah. So this is our introductory about who we are. Obviously, you know, we're Jasmin, Monica, Maritza, and Deibys. Hi. Mhm. And we hope that you will come back and listen to us.

You just got a little feel of how we got started and the inspiration. And you know what? Don't forget to be kind and generous. It's not only to others, but also to yourself because this is your life and you have to make it beautiful. So make sure that you always make yourself a priority and aim for your goals.
